Frequently Asked Questions
The Consumer Product Safety and Accuracy + (CPSA+) system is an online portal for consumers, businesses, conformity assessment/testing bodies, and regulators to input and access information on Nigeria's consumer product safety, and weights and measures regimes.
Consumers may check if a household electrical or gas appliance* they purchased has been tested to specified safety standard, or if a weighing or measuring instrument used in a trade transaction has been tested for its accuracy.
External stakeholders include appointed third-party certification and testing bodies, suppliers of consumer products, and businesses that trade goods by weight or measure who submit applications and make transactions through the system for regulatory compliance purposes.
The CPSA+ is hosted and maintained by the Consumer Product Safety Office (CPSO), and the Weights and Measures Office (WMO) ‐ offices overseen by Enterprise Nigeria.
